Checkout Periods

Updated August 28, 2010

The loan period for most items is 4 weeks. Specially identified new books, DVDs, videogames, and magazines will check out for two weeks in order to make them available sooner to more people.  The loan period for Book Club Bags is two months.

There is no limit on the number of books, cds or audiobooks an individual can check out. However, there is a limit of 10 DVDs and two videogames per check out period.

Checkout Receipts

You will get a receipt listing items and their due date. Staff are no longer stamping individual items.

Self-Check Computers

Our self check computers allow you to check out your own materials and provide you with a checkout receipt of those items. This provides greater privacy in checking out materials and shortens the checkout time. You must have a current Library card with a fine balance of less than $10. The self check computers cannot check out items without barcodes. They also have a Spanish language option. Stop by and take a look at our self check computers located in the lobby and next to the DVDs. There is also a self check computer available near the Youth Services Reference desk.
