Library Volunteers
The Corvallis-Benton County Public Library is one of the busiest libraries in the state and requires the help of dedicated volunteers to meet the needs of our population in the City of Corvallis and throughout Benton County. The Library strives to offer services to the entire community by providing materials and service that cross cultural, economic and educational boundaries.
Volunteers help the Library provide a high level of service at a low cost to the community. You can help provide essential services by volunteering.
The Corvallis-Benton County Public Library Needs Volunteers To:
- Commit to a weekly schedule
- Be 14 years of age or older
- Be able to pass a background check for positions working with youth or seniors
- Like people and books
- Enjoy the quiet hard work that goes into making library materials, programs and services available to all
How our Volunteers Help:
- Search for patron holds
- Shelve new books
- Maintain local history newspaper files for Philomath
- Check in library materials
- Assist with collection development
- Process new materials
- Process materials for the homebound
- Deliver materials to homebound patrons or childcare centers
- Assist children in their computer areas
- Help organize and process materials for rotation to branch and senior facilities
- Assist with programs

- Join the Friends of the Library or the Library Foundation

- Submit a Volunteer Application to any Library service desk. You may also contact the Volunteer Coordinator to have one mailed.
