Storytimes

The Corvallis-Benton County Public Library offers eight storytimes a week, five at the Main Library in Corvallis, two at the Philomath Community Library, and one at the Monroe Community Library.

Book Clubs

The Youth Services Division currently offers three monthly book clubs for elementary school-aged kids. The Third Grade Book Club usually meets the fourth Thursday of each month from 3:30-4:15 p.m. The Kids Book Club, for readers in grades 4-5, usually meets the third Thursday of each month from 3:30-4:30 p.m. The Bilingual Kids' Book Club, for readers in grades 3-6, usually meets the last Tuesday of each month from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

La fiesta de su biblioteca

La Fiesta de su Biblioteca takes place on the third Saturday of every month in the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library. Come and enjoy a fun bilingual English/Spanish program! Children of all ages are welcome. Crafts are made at many of the programs.

Curious? READ! Curious George Reading Program

The Corvallis-Benton County Public Library invites all children ages birth to four-years-old to participate in the Curious? READ! Reading Program.

R.E.A.D. Dogs

The Reading Education Assistance Dog program (R.E.A.D.) is available at the Corvallis, Monroe, and Philomath branches of the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library. The mission of the program is to provide beginning readers an opportunity to practice their reading skills in a non-threatening environment. The dogs and their handlers will work with individual children on a one-on-one basis for approximately 15-20 minutes during a session.

Kids Game Days

The Youth Services Division offers Kids Game Days periodically throughout the year. This program provides kids ages 6-12 with a chance to play a variety of Xbox, Playstation and Wii video games from the Library's collection. All video games at Kids Game Day are rated E for Everyone. Kids Game Days are geared for kids ages 6-12.

El día de los niños/ El día de los libros (Children's Day/Book Day)

El día de los niños/ El día de los libros (Children's Day/Book Day) has been observed annually on April 30th since 1997. It is a day created by librarians and educators as a celebration of childhood and bilingual literacy. It emphasizes the importance of advocating literacy for every child regardless of linguistic and cultural background.

Summer Reading Program

Participation in the Library’s summer reading program encourages children to keep reading during their summer vacation. Enjoy a summer of fun, entertainment, and prizes each summer @ your library! Each year the Youth Services Division provides a fun summer reading program geared for children ages 3 to 12.
