It's Never Too Early to Start Reading with Your Baby!

Share books with your baby everyday.

Choose books that are appropriate for your baby and toddler. Board books can withstand typical baby behavior - chewing, tasting, turning pages, and playing with books.

Choose books with clear, simple pictures. Babies love pictures of other babies and images that reflect their experiences.Touch and feel books, and sturdy books with lift-the-flap features are favorites.

Curious about what to expect from your child at each stage of development when it comes to books and language? Check out this resource: Developmental Milestones of Early Literacy from Reach Out and Read. Available in English, Spanish, and Chinese.
